Trailer Ideas
Idea #1
We Might As Well Be Strangers (2010) - Heiward Mak
For my trailer, I looked to one of the main films that were my inspiration (We Might As Well Be Strangers) and looked at the trailer made from the film because there is a similar tone and feel to it. This however is more of a generic trailer that only incorporates clips from the film itself so despite the fact that it fits well to my genre and style of film, it is quite simple.
Idea #2
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) - Michel Gondry
This film has quite a melancholic, depressing tone to it but I was surprised to see the trailer take a more comedic and upbeat spin, advertising the Lacuna Clinic instead of taking excerpts from the film itself.
For my film, if I were to take this route, I was thinking that I could advertise for a matchmaking website (e.g. Match.com), and introduce Alex and Wren as a model of supposedly the "perfect match".
Going along conventional television advertisements as well as the trailer above, the voiceover could be the typical "Meet Alex, he's just a regular teenage boy...." or something along the lines of that. Could also be borderline teen comedy / chick flick styled.
Idea #3
I wasn't able to find a specific trailer that followed the third concept I am thinking of but it goes along the lines of telling the very basic gist of the film from Wren's perspective, seeing that a lot of the film goes from Alex's point of view. I would get into a lot more depth about her character and how her whole perspective on everything around her would be narrated by herself.
Could also possibly be a twist on genre, follow the comedic/chick-flick style as well.
